S.A.N.D. is committed to providing a space for everyone to comfortably get on the water in a way that fits your schedule, so we’re developing opportunities both for underrepresented groups and for everyone. New for the 2026 season, we’re offering some low-cost opportunities to get out on the water in group settings. These programs will continue through the season based on demand, so keep an eye on our socials for more programs!
Femmes & Thems Social Paddles
We’re hosting evening social paddles! Our Femmes & Thems programs are open to all women, non-binary folks, queer folks, and anyone more comfortable paddling in this kind of environment. These social paddles are free to participate in and rentals will be available at a reduced rate. Bring your canoe, kayak, SUP, or anything else you’d like paddlers of any kind are welcome!

Pride Paddle in the Voy!
Join us for S.A.N.D.s first ever pride event! We’ll go out for a 2-3 hour tour of the Thunder Bay harbour in our 34′ Voyageur canoe with room for up to 14 participants. This event is open to any member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and no paddling experience is required. We’ll provide all required paddling equipment and guides for the event.
