Come join Vik Wilen and Such A Nice Day Adventures for a paddle and paint tour

Located in the gorgeous Amethyst Harbour this one of a kind tour offers a half day sea kayak trip lead by our experienced and knowledgeable guides. The tour will explore the coastline and head towards Caribou Island where you will get to view the stunning cliffs and shoreline. It is a 1.5km open Lake Superior crossing to get to Caribou Island but once there we can enjoy the wild setting and find a beautiful secluded beach to have a painting workshop with local artist Vik Wilen.
This event does require fair weather and we will make the call to cancel 24hrs before if the forecast is not looking good. We never know what we will get on Lake Superior but hopefully it will be favourable for us.
We are going for it hoping it will be such a nice day! In the case it is not, we will do our best to reschedule and if it is simply not possible we will offer a full refund.
Plan is to meet 9:00am to get ready with the kayaks and return 3pm
- Prices subject to 13% HST
Gear included:
- Sea kayak, spray skirt, paddle, and PFD
- Kayak safety equipment (whistle, bilge pump, buoyant line)
- Immersion gear (wetsuits are optional for this summer tour and will be weather depending)
- Small Dry bags 5-20L for personal items
- First Aid, Repair Kit, Group tarp shelter(s)
- water filtration system
- Emergency extra warm clothes
Gear you will need to provide:
- Lunch and snacks
- Water bottle(s) 2-3L capacity
- Appropriate paddling clothing non cotton top and bottom (wool/polyester) and/or swimsuit for under neoprene wetsuit (if using)
- Paddle clothing and footwear (neoprene booties are best but old runners with wool/neoprene socks will work. We have some if you don’t have but please let us know)
- Warm change of clothes and rain gear top/bottom
- appropriate footwear for walking around the island
- Sun hat
- Sunglasses (with straps recommended)
- Waterproof sunscreen
- Camera
