Meet the Trip Guides

We are really excited to welcome Ray Boucher and David Johnston. Two of Ontario’s most experienced instructors and guides. They have each been teaching sea kayaking courses and guiding trips on Lake Superior for over 20 years. This magnificent lake remains one of their all-time favourite places to paddle.

Ray Boucher

Ray is a Paddle Canada Sea Kayak Level-3 Instructor, with certifications in the BCU and ACA systems. He has been paddling Lake Superior for over twenty years, and has covered most of the Canadian coastline several times. He is grateful to be an NRS Sponsored Paddler.

Ray is an elementary school teacher living in Wawa, Ontario. Besides paddling, he is an avid skier, mountain biker and trail runner.

David Johnston

David has been introducing people to the sport of sea kayaking for the past 25 years. He is a Level-4 instructor with Paddle Canada and has taught for several paddling schools all across Canada.

David lives in Peterborough and when not paddling, he is a web designer with the Ontario Provincial Government. Future dream jobs include becoming a professional wrestler referee or a certified waterslide tester.
