All kayak gear will be provided. No experience required. This is a really great opportunity to try sea kayaking!

We have both stable single and double sit in sea kayaks to choose from some with skegs and some with rudders. Most of our single kayaks have a 200-230lb body weight limit so heavier individuals (up to a max of 300lbs) must use a double kayak. Please select which you would like during the booking process. If you are not sure please discuss with us before hand.

During our peak summer season – any day from June 15th to September 15th you will be fine in layers and jacket. We can supply a paddling jacket for you if you would like.

Dry suits are mandatory – For any day trip or expedition using single sea kayaks before June 15th and after September 15th. SAND guides may allow just our overcoat cags to be used at no additional cost in double kayaks for short tours depending on water/air temperatures.

Gear included:
  • Sea kayak, spray skirt, paddle, and PFD
  • Kayak safety equipment (whistle, bilge pump, buoyant line)
  • Immersion gear (wetsuit/paddle jacket, overcoat, or drysuit for early/late season, optional for summer)

  • Paddle clothing and footwear (neoprene booties are best but old runners with wool/neoprene socks will work. We have some if you don’t have)
  • depending on time of year and conditions we may allow double kayaks only to use our large overcoast jackets instead of a drysuit at no additional cost
